For my eldest niece's Birthday, I created an illustration that combined 3 of her favorite things. Ballet, Dinosaurs, and her sisters.
The initial sketch was only of Emery with her Apatosaurus. I had her dressed in a tutu with her hair pulled back just like she looked during one of her dance recitals.
Although Emery is adorable with her hair pulled back, I changed it so that her hair would flow, freely in the wind and gave her a more whimsical tutu. I then added her sisters, Lainey & Hallie.
I did the first round of color with Emery and her Apatosaurus and debated whether to leave it as is with the happy duo. But I couldn't resist including all the nieces in the final composition.
